Engadin Express for Microsoft Train Simulator

The present Engadin Express closes a gap in the RhB series of Simtrain.ch. Within the last 10 years the tracks and vehicles of the Rhaetian Railway have gradually been created. The meter gauge railway network is now complete with this factory and the Train Sim train driver can drive all the tracks of this Swiss mountain railway.

As separate additional products, "Allegra Stammnetz Plus" and "RhB Nostalgia" can be installed at any time.

The route of the Engadine Express from simtrain.ch includes the actual Engadin Line of the Rhaetian Railway from Bever to Scuol-Tarasp, the Upper Engadine Triangle from St. Moritz and Pontresina via Samedan to Bever, the club line from Klosters to Sagliains in the Lower Engadine and the Part of the Bernina Railway from Pontresina to St. Moritz. The diversity of these sections also corresponds to the supplied rolling stock. The TrainSim locomotive finds almost all the rolling stock of the RhB base network, as well as some selected vehicles of the Bernina train. And a special highlight is the car-loading train with the BDt 1731 control car, the covered car transport wagon and the open loading and end cars.


The Engadin line of the RhB

The actual Engadine line runs from Bever, the connecting station to the Albula line, along the Inn through the Upper and Lower Engadine. Passing Madulain with its beautiful Engadine houses, Zuoz with the internationally renowned Liceum Alpinum, the Zernez line reaches the imposing viaduct of Cinuos-chel. Zernez is the starting point of the road through the Swiss National Park, over the Ofenpass and the Stelvio Pass. Then the railway crosses the valley between Zernez and Susch and arrives in Sagiains, the south portal of the Vereina tunnel. Then it goes down through the Lower Engadine with the villages of Lavin, Guarda, Ardez and Ftan to the end in the seaside resort of Scuol-Tarasp. Here then there is connection to the postbus to Samnaun, Landeck and Val Sinestra.

This Grisons railway line celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2013. At that time, 1913, this part of the Rhaetian Railway was the first, fully electrified line of the RhB. With a length of 50 kilometers, the train passes through 17 tunnels and over 79 large and small bridges through the high mountain valley. The valley between Zernez and Susch became especially well-known when on March 19, 1937, the brown "Kastenlok" Ge 4/6 391 hit a snow slide, crashed into the Inn and could only be recovered after more than 2 months.

In addition to these "draft horses" of the Rhaetian Railway is a large fleet of cars with passenger and freight cars for all areas included. Particularly noteworthy is the Vereina-Autozug, consisting of control car, end car, Auffahrwagen and covered dolly. But the popular special cars, such as panoramic car, Glacier Express car, Gourmino and jumbo dining car, observation car and more are also included in the collection. All traction units are in the normal version and in the version for driving with the RAILDRIVER control panel. The latter bear the suffix "RD".
