JTG BR401 Task Package Vol. 1

The Class 401 was the first mass-produced high-speed train in Germany and laid the foundation for six generations of this train type to date. Commissioned in 1991, these multiple units operate at speeds of up to 280 km/h and offer approximately 700 seats in Germany and Switzerland, shaping the image of German high-speed rail travel ever since. In the early 1990s, state guests such as Queen Elizabeth II and Emperor Akihito of Japan traveled through Germany in specially converted trainsets. Current plans call for this class to remain in service until 2030.
