Simtrain ÖBB Railjet

The railjet, abbreviated RJ, is a long-distance train of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), which is one of the fastest locomotive-powered trains in the world. Treat yourself to some luxury! In the First or Business Class of the railjet you travel like an emperor in Austria. Since June 2010, railjet trolleys have been operating between Vienna - Zurich - Vienna. In SBB Route 1 you will find the section Pfäffikon Schwyz - Sargans, which the railjet also drives in its original version.

The railjet represents a common train category of ÖBB, Deutsche Bahn, the Swiss Federal Railways and the Hungarian State Railway Magyar Államvasutak. The train was presented to the public for the first time on 15 September 2008. For the 2008/2009 timetable he started commercial operation. In mid-July 2012, Garnitur 51 left the Simmering plant as the last RJ set for ÖBB. The railjet trims consist of individual carriages, which are connected to each other with shell sleeve couplings and have at the ends normal screw couplings. For routes with particularly high passenger volumes a double set is performed. The trains consist of a 185-meter-long turning train, which consists of a control car and six intermediate cars. This train is pulled by a multi-system Taurus 2 locomotive with up to 230 km / h. Including locomotive the train comes to a total length of 205 meters.
